Grand Prix Dallas Trial 2011

Each Trial offers at least 1 three-round bye to Grand Prix Dallas/Fort Worth.


 

Date: Saturday, March 19th


 

Time: Registration begins @10AM; Round 1 begins @12 Noon

Format

* Standard

* Deck lists are required: PLEASE HAVE TYPED DECK LIST


 

Tournament Length

* Swiss rounds - 50 minutes per round

* Top 8 matches will have no time limit

* Number of Swiss rounds based on attendance according to the following chart:

Advancement

* All players may participate in all Swiss rounds.

* The top 8 players after the final Swiss round will advance to the top 8 single-elimination finals.


 

Top 8

* Top 8 matches will be best 2 of 3

* Top 8 matches will have no time limit.

* Where necessary, the standings after the Swiss rounds will still be used to determine final order in the standings.

* 24K, REL Competitive

* All the Magic: The Gathering Tournament Rules and the Magic: The Gathering Infraction Procedure Guide are in effect for this event unless specifically overruled by information in this Format Document. Rules documents can be found in the DCI Document Center.

* Players must bring pen, paper, card sleeves and appropriate counters.

* This is a premier Magic tournament. Organizers and judges of a Grand Prix Trial are not permitted to play in the tournament.

Mirrodin Besieged Launch Party & League Information

Mirrodin Besieged LAUNCH Party!

  • Format: Sealed Deck (3x Scars & 3x Besieged)
  • Time: Registration begins @10AM, Deck Construction begins @12 Noon!
  • Fee: $30.00 (Guaranteed 2 boosters per player entered into Prize Pool)
  • Swiss, 50 Minutes for deck construction, 50 Minute Rounds, Number of rounds determined by number of players
  • Foil Promo Thopter Assembly to the first 48 registered players.


 

New Mirrodin Besieged Player's League Rules

LEAGUE FEE:  $1.00
+ the cost
of 3x Scars of Mirrodin Booster Packs & 3x Besieged of Mirrodin

LEAGUE STRUCTURE/FORMAT

  • ANY Players from the Release tournament may use the card pool they received during the tournament as their league deck!  If you did not play in the release tournament and would still like to join in league play you may purchase 3x Scars & 3x Besieged.  If you are dissatisfied with your card pool you may completely re-buy your pool of cards, but any league games that have been played will still count towards your over-all score. 
  • You must register your deck when signing up for League play.
  • All Players will have a card list which will be updated after each new pack is purchased and kept on file in the store.
  • Adding Boosters to your card pool:  You may choose to add an additional booster the day league begins! The listed dates below are when you may choose to purchase additional boosters to your card pool beginning:
    • Saturday 2/5/11 (Besieged)
    • Saturday 2/12/11 (Scars)
    • Saturday 2/19/11 (Besieged)
    • Saturday 2/26/11 (Scars)
    • Saturday 3/5/11 (Besieged)
  • Wednesdays, Fridays, & Saturdays starting at 4:00PM are the official league days.  If you would like to play on any other day, please call to reserve your space.   
  • League Decks will be kept at the store until the League has been completed.  Each player will receive a card box with their name on it.  We will hold your cards for up to 1 month after the league is finished.
  • Players are responsible for returning their league boxes to an employee.  If your league cards are left in the game room, you are tempting fate.
  • Anyone caught cheating (inserting cards, etc.) will be dropped from the league and banned from the store for 6 months.
  • Everyone who signs up for the league has the right to play everyone else in the league. No player will deny another player a match if they have the time to play.
  • Players can play as many matches in a week as they wish, but only the first 6 matches in a week will count.  If you do not play all 6 matches in a week those matches can be carried over into the next week. Example: You can wait until the last week and play 24 games. Players must attempt to complete at least six league matches throughout the course of the league (at least six league matches during the month of October)
  • Players are responsible for filling out the result entry slips that are provided and placing them in the bowl so labeled.  Entry slips must be signed and dated for them to be valid.  If this information is not listed on the result sheet that game WILL NOT be included into your score.
  • When players win a match, they will receive 2 tick marks for their score and a loss will result in 1 tick mark for their score.  All money will go towards prizes and kits. 
  • Promos will be given out for every 4 tick marks received, Hero of Bladehold and/or Glissa, the Traitor. (While Supplies last)
  • Sign up Promo of Full Art Memnite will be given to all league participants that play 1 game per week.

All promos will be handed out at the end of the league (email addresses needed to guarantee you get your promos)
