What: Is a Win Gold Challenge?

• As an added bonus for fans of Magic: The Gathering, the World Championship in Memphis, Tennessee will hold an invitation-only event on December 14, 2008. The only way to qualify is through a Win Gold Challenge such as ours, and the grand prize is 14K gold embossed with the Worlds logo valued at $10,000!
  

 

Tournament Details

• When: November 22^nd, 2008, 12PM
  
• Entry fee is $27
  
• Deck lists are required.
  
• Format is a sealed deck with one Shards of Alara Tournament pack and 2 Shards of Alara Boosters
  
• If there are 17 or more players, there will be a single-elimination Draft.
  
• This event is open only to U.S. residents.
  
• Number of Swiss rounds based on attendance according to the following chart:
  

 

Attendance         Swiss rounds

8            3 (single elimination)

9 - 16            4 (cut to top 4)

17 - 32            5 (cut to top 8)

And so forth according to normal DCI procedure

 

• Top 8 pairings are random for a sealed event with a Draft top 8.
  
• Top 8 matches are best 2 out of 3 with no time limit.
  
• The top 2 players win an invitation to the Win Gold Championship held at the 2008 World Championship in Memphis, Tennessee, on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM.
