AF&G GW Weekend Blast

AF&G 40k/WHF Weekend Blast!


 

Saturday June 5th & Sunday June 6th, 10AM-10PM both days


 

Saturday, Warhammer 40,000 Events


 

1500-point Tournament, Fee $10, Start Time 11AM, 16 Players. Each list can only be 1500 points, not one point more. Make sure to bring in 3 copies of your list, typed up. One is for the judge, one is for your opponent, and one is for you. Armies don't have to be fully painted, but they are required to be assembled. No Proxies. Each tournament round will be 2 ½ hours long, including set-up, and will go to 6 game rounds each. There will be no need to roll for the 7th round. Games will be determined by wins/losses first, than by points if there is a draw. The doors open at 10 AM and the first round starts at 11AM. We only have enough room for 16 players, so come in and sign up as soon as you can.

Tank Race, Fee $3, Start Time 12PM. Finish the laps without getting destroyed by the others. Bring in a Tank, with any and all upgrades allowed by your codex, and finish 5 laps first. The unit type must have Vehicle (Tank) in its description. Fast and Skimmers are allowed. Terrain and obstacles will attempt to slow you down, and orbital attacks, along with heavy weapon squads, will make sure skimmers don't exceed certain altitudes.

IC Arena, Fee $3, Start Time 2PM Bring in your favorite IC and find out which one is truly the best. Each arena will hold 6 to 8 participants, and each battle will consist of 3 rounds. The winner of each round will advance to the final arena and battle to the death. The first person to start the battle will be determined randomly by the event official, and continue in a clockwise rotation. All games will follow the most recent Warhammer 40,000 Rulebook and Codex. No model will have a retinue or squad to join, and no transports. Just the character and its war gear will be on the field following the points and rules in your codex. The game starts AT 2PM, and will finish when one stands triumphant.

40K Challenge: Your troop choice vs. three soul grinders, Fee $ 5 Start Time 4PM Following upgrade and point rules from you codex, design a 10 man squad and attempt to completely destroy 3 Chaos Soul Grinders before 5 rounds are up.

Painting Contest, Fee $2, Start Time 4PM Come in and gather around the table filled with paints and brushes, paint the model, and take it home. Other gamers will vote for the best paint job. There is a prize for the winner.


 


 


Sunday, Warhammer Fantasy Events

WHF Challenge: Your core choice vs. Chaos Lords, Fee $ 5 Start Time 4PM Following upgrade and point rules from you Army Book, design a 20 man regiment and attempt to completely destroy 3 Chaos Warrior Lords before 5 rounds are up. No special or named characters allowed, and the regiment must be from a core choice.

Painting Contest: Fee $2, Start Time 4PM Come in and gather around the table filled with paints and brushes, paint the model, and take it home. Other gamers will vote for the best paint job. There is a prize for the winner.

Both days will have 2 tables set up for Lord of the Ring Players. No fee.


AF&G House Rules for the Weekend Blast:


 

1. The Ork Deffrolla will NOT inflict D6 S10 hits against ANY vehicles. Vehicles do not have a Leadership, so cannot run away. Also, a harvester on a truck will not destroy a tank. Ever.


 

2. All green non-hill terrain with the tree(s) on it will be forests. The trees can be removed to move units through, but the terrain will follow these rules:

a. You will be able to draw line of site through it.

b. Anyone being shot through the terrain will automatically have a 4+ cover save. Monstrous Creatures and Vehicles will have to be either half way in the terrain or behind the base for cover. Examples will be given on the day of the tournament.
